Run Ready: Gear Advisor
Privacy Policy
The short version: Run Ready does not collect your personal data, does not require an account, and does not sell or share your information. Location is used only to fetch local weather and is never stored on our servers.
1. Information We Collect
Run Ready: Gear Advisor is designed to be private by default. Here is what the app accesses and why:
- Location data — GPS coordinates are requested only when you use the "Current Location" feature. Location is used solely to fetch a weather forecast for your area. Coordinates are sent directly to our weather providers and are never stored on our servers or associated with any user profile.
- Weather preferences and settings — Your unit preferences (°F/°C, mph/km/h), gear thresholds, and display settings are stored locally on your device only. This data is never transmitted to any server.
- Run forecast history — Any run planning history or saved forecasts are stored locally on your device only and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
No account is required. Run Ready does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information such as your name, email address, or date of birth.
2. How We Use Information
The information described above is used exclusively to provide the core functionality of the app:
- Location coordinates are used solely to fetch your local weather forecast from our weather data providers.
- We do not use your data for advertising, analytics profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering weather-based gear recommendations.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party except as described in Section 3 (Third-Party Services), and only as necessary to fetch weather data.
3. Third-Party Services
Run Ready uses the following third-party services to function. Each service has its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review:
- Apple WeatherKit — Used to fetch weather forecasts. Apple may process location data to return forecast results. See Apple's attribution and privacy information at weatherkit.apple.com/legal-attribution.html.
- Open-Meteo — An open-source weather API used as an additional forecast source. No personal data is required to use this service. See their terms at open-meteo.com/en/terms.
- RevenueCat — Used to manage Pro subscription status and in-app purchase validation. RevenueCat may process a device identifier and subscription state. No personally identifiable information is shared. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at privacy.revenuecat.com.
4. In-App Purchases
Run Ready offers a Pro subscription at $4.99/year with a 3-day free trial. All purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Pixeljogger does not collect or store your payment information.
RevenueCat is used to validate and manage subscription status on the app side. This involves a device-level identifier and your subscription state — no personally identifiable information is involved.
For questions about billing, cancellations, or refunds, please contact Apple Support or manage your subscriptions through iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
5. Data Retention
All data generated by Run Ready — including settings, preferences, and any cached forecasts — is stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage mechanisms.
- Data is retained on your device until you delete the app.
- Deleting the app removes all locally stored data.
- Pixeljogger does not maintain any server-side records associated with individual users.
6. Children's Privacy
Run Ready is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our app, please contact us at support@pixeljogger.com and we will address it promptly.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app evolves or as legal requirements change. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
